We're bypassing what appears to be the latest holiday tradition craze, Elf on a Shelf, and going old-school with a wooden box advent calendar that recalls the "reason for the season"and has enough room for a little bit of daily chocolatey goodness to add to the excitement and anticipation of the holiday. Inside each of the 24 doors is a character from the nativity scene and a small chocolate treat (that we provided). The scene on top rotates. Each day, you add that day's character to the scene. Gideon's already delighted in filling the doors with their characters and candies and now eagerly anticipates the daily opening of a door. We found this at www.stpatricksguild.com.
Not new exactly, but newly completed:
Couldn't resist walking through the baby department at Target and justified this purchase as a "going-home outfit" for baby, even though we have plenty of other things that would work. Just couldn't help myself. Would you have been able to resist?

I love the hat! I want to make a baby hat myself (although I'll have to crochet). I'm so excited for you guys! The anticipation is building.
ReplyDeleteAmy: Do you still want to talk about having a Doula at your birth? Or have you already had your joyous event? Give me a call.
