At Home

We really lived in our house Saturday - for the first time since the house went on the market.  We let ourselves spread out.  We didn't fret over dropped crumbs or piles of shoes by the door.  Jeremy and I read our books.  Gideon built train tracks on the floor.  I cooked three meals (no, really) and baked cookies.  Despite this leisure, though, we all turned in early.  It was an exhaustion of fullness, relaxation, peace - being really, truly, completely at home.

And then we woke up Sunday morning and worked like dogs to get (and keep) the house clean for a 2 p.m. open house.   The calm was short-lived, but at least we relished it.
